Gili Trawangan situated in an archipelago in the West Nusa Tenggara region, a mere 15 minute boat ride from the south coast of it’s mainland, Lombok and a 20 minute plane ride from Bali.

It’s neighbouring islands, Gili Air and Gili Meno make up the trio popularly known as the “Gili Islands” or “Gili’s” for short. Gili Trawagan is renowned for it's versatility, and has a very relaxed "island feel" by day with a strong night life. It boasts amazing views of Mount Rinjani and Mount Agung, with stunning coral reefs, crystal clear azure waters, fine white sand beaches and accessible surf and stunning diving spots.

GIli Trawangan has a population of about 700 people and is only 6km in diameter and boasts a “no car or motorbike” policy, to keep the peace and reduce pollution, with the only modes of transport being horse & cart (cidomo), bicycle or you own two legs.

Gili Trawangan has a "city centre" that is approximately 1.5km long, and is located on the eastern side of the island, here you can find a myraid of restaurants and bars, a handful of clothing boutiques and the local night and day markets. The Trawangan Harbour is also located in this area, where you can take trips to the surrounding islands, and to mainland.

Getting Here

When travelling to a small tropical island, half the fun is getting here. There 2 mains ways to get to Gili Trawangan, (For those travelling for overseas, the first step is to get to Bali):

AIR TRANSPORT SEA TRANSPORT

If you are travelling from Bali, there are daily domestic flights to Mataram, followed by a scenic car ride through the cities and villages of Lombok to Teluk Kodek Wharf (on the southern coast of Lombok). From Teluk Kodek Wharf, you can then take the infamous 15 minute speedboat ride to Gili Trawagan, to be dropped on our private beach.

Airlines travelling to Lombok include: Garuda, Silk Air, Lion Air, Merpati, Trigana Air and Batavia Air.

Alternately, If you can’t seem to pull yourself away from the sea and sun, you can take one of the many Fastboat rides available from different ports in Bali to Gili Trawangan. These usually depart in the morning and include hotel pick-ups. Fastboat companies travelling from Bali to Gili Trawangan we recommend Gili Cat!!
